Join renowned fibre-artist & award-winning author Ruth Woods of Craft School Oz for an immersive creative workshop at Waratah Hills Vineyard.

The Workshop:
Over the morning, you’ll be led by Ruth Woods to craft your own sculptural weave ball or basket, using grapevines pruned from our vineyard. You’ll learn creative weaving techniques, as well as understand ideal materials for future exploration. Including a plant list to take home for your own foraging.  

This workshop is perfect for craft & nature enthusiasts alike, as well as those who just love good company with good food & wine. No experience nor green thumbs required!

Limited to only 12 spots.

The Lunch:
You’ll then be invited to enjoy lunch in our Cellar Door. Starting with a glass of Prom Road wine of your choice - whether Prosecco, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Noir, or Tempranillo take your fancy. Followed by a selection of delicious lunch plates to share featuring local, seasonal produce. With a light morning tea on arrival too.

When: Sat 19 October. 10am till 12pm, followed by lunch.
Where: Waratah Hills Cellar Door. 20 Cottmans Road, Fish Creek VIC. 
Cost: $120pp. (This includes tuition and all materials. As well as light morning tea, lunch, and a glass of Prom Road wine of your choosing.)

About Ruth Woods

Ruth Woods is a renowned artist, educator, and “gatherer”, who has spent the last 30+ years exploring the world of textiles. Based in the Yarra Valley, Ruth’s work emphasises sustainability and mindfulness; incorporating traditional techniques, repurposed materials, and natural fibres harvested from different times and places of the year, collected and stored in her own “weaving pantry”.

Through her work and teachings, Ruth aims to share her passion and knowledge for the natural world and the creative one; inviting those around her to “slow down and take a breath, and make beautiful work in the process.”

Her passion for natural fibres and creative exploration is exemplified in her book ‘Finding Form with Fibre’, available for purchase here and at the workshop.
